Increasingly, business users and frequent travelers have found cordless 2 line phones to be absolutely indispensably convenient tools for communication and information-gathering while on the move. While many people may be happy with a one-line phone, if you travel a great deal for business-related purposes or you have a lot of contacts to keep up with, you can benefit from a second line. Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to immediately differentiate a business call from a personal one based on the ring tone? Or to have two phone numbers that can give out for separate purposes, on a single phone? Once you think about the conveniences a second line affords you, you may be amazed that you ever got by without one. The hunt for the right multi-line cordless telephone has become a heated competition between the top phone companies.
There are now many different options available for a cordless phone with two or more line capability. They often include added features such as answering machines and secondary keypads, so you can feel free to pick the phone that does exactly what you need it to do. And more and more commonly, multiple line phones are using features such as Bluetooth to enable multitasking of various activities that would be more difficult or even outright impossible with a single line.
While prices are often expensive, it’s to be expected for a phone with this level of functionality, and the money you lay down is to get a product that you won’t need to replace for many, many years to come. Phones with multiple lines often offer individual virtual mailboxes and answering machine systems for each line. This allows businessmen to keep the various complex components of their lives separate and cleanly organized. Think about how much easier it could be to sort all your mail, if you had personal mail and business mail separate but only needed to carry one phone around! You could even separate mail by department, if you’re a high-ranking company manager, or by intent, such as having one line specifically for employee suggestions or customer complaints. A good phone will also eliminate line-switching noises to keep transitions smooth and comfortable, and keep cross talk between lines down so you can hold two simultaneous conversations without one blurring into the other.
In addition, because phones with more than one line are considered a more high-end kind of phone, they also often come with other side features to make life easier. Common bonus capabilities are things like base-included headsets with the ability to switch from speaker, handset, and headset freely, to name just one example.
You can expect to pay around two hundred dollars or more for a really good cordless phone with multi-line capability. That may seem like a lot, but in return for the functionality you get, it’s a bargain. And it’s definitely cheaper and more convenient than buying two copies of a phone with all the same features! If money is tight, you can also find much cheaper phones, all the way down to sixty dollars or so, by less major name brand companies. The cheaper alternatives won’t give you the same variety and breadth of capability, but they will give you the basic power and flexibility that a two-line system offers to anyone with a busy, complicated life. Settling for a phone that can only handle one line will slow your life down and make you less able to keep up with both business and your personal life, do you really want to risk that?
